Argumentum de Libertas (Latin)

Evidence of Freedom

Liberty and Freedom are evidenced by:

  • A fundamental belief in the accountability of the government and its officers to the  principles of Freedom, Democracy, Liberty, Individual Rights and Personal Responsibility and to the people as a whole.
  • A foundation based upon the principles of a republican government.
  • An independent judiciary that is able to affirm or abolish laws passed by a legislative body in accordance with a written declaration of rights and responsibilities (Example - Constitution)
  • The ability of the people to change their representative government through a free and open electoral process.
  • Freedom from slavery, coercion, tyranny or arbitrary authoritative decree for all individual citizens.
  • Freedom of the Press to speak openly against, to investigate and report to the people as to the actions of their government.
  • Freedom to believe, think, speak and act as one wishes without interference by others, governments or their representatives, provided that none are harmed by these actions.
  • Absolute "Rule of Law" founded upon the principles of individual rights, freedom and choice.
  • Belief in the absolute right within the law of the individual to make decisions for themselves, their business and their families as they deem fit.
  • The belief that the individual has the responsibility to provide for themselves, their business and their families through the efforts of their labor, capital or investment.
  • The ability to invest, divest and move capital "at will" to facilitate the needs of the individual citizen, their business or family.
